About me
Inspection. Repair. Maintenance. Service. Quality.

My Qualifications:
I spent 22 years in the US Air Force, the first three years as an aircraft mechanic. As a part of my duties I inspected cargo aircraft for pre and post flight discrepancies. The remaining 19 years I was an air traffic controller. I rose to a level that my job was primarily evaluating trainee controllers. While this role may not sound like that of an inspector, it truly was. I had to ensure that all FAA regulations and applicable military procedures were followed correctly in a constantly changing environment. I spent five years at the University of Oklahoma, Max Westheimer Airport, working in the control tower. My job there led to further evaluation of controllers and procedures. I then moved to a position with the FAA as an Aeronautical Information Specialist. This position required periodic inspections to determine if the published procedures were still safe by current regulations.
I have trained in the RV industry to assist and educate new RV owners. I want potential RV owners to avoid purchasing a money pit. My goal is to help my fellow RV owners understand their RV systems, so they can take their “HOME ON THE ROAD” and travel in a safe and reliable manner, thus making their travels and memories truly enjoyable!

What’s it like to be a “workamper”?
After submitting the resume, I was hired on a three-month contract. I was hired for outside maintenance and grass cutting. Shortly after arrival, I was reassigned to work in The Big Red School House, the home of the NRVTA (National RV Training Academy). I learned to drive a tractor, wire a circuit breaker box, hang suspended ceilings and lay carpet squares. I learned that the work of getting a new business up and running was filled with constantly changing priorities. I often joked that the Big Red School House, home of the NRVTA, word of the day should be “change” and the only thing that never changed was the word of the day. One big thing that changed was the length of my contract. It turned out to be five months and the hours I worked enabled me to pay for the following advanced technical courses: Air conditioning, Water Heater and Furnace, Absorption Refrigerators, and Exterior Systems repair. These courses were in addition to the course I paid for out of pocket to become a NRVIA certified Level 1 and 2 Inspector. After completing all the courses, I passed the RVIA Registered Technician exam. I decided I wanted to become more familiar with RV rigs that were of different makes and models. I started working part time at the place I bought my RV. I truly enjoyed my Workamper experience. I enjoyed the work and the comradery with fellow workampers. I have made new friends for life, all of which were made possible by becoming a workamper. Oh yeah, the windshield wipers and rear-view camera work perfectly now!
